Philanthropist Dies for Failure to Pay $1000

Published by kpcwriting under In the News Edit This

I just heard one of the saddest stories I heard in a long time, apparently a 93 year old WWII veteran who didn’t pay his electricity bill has died of hypothermia (house temperature was 32 degrees). Apparently, Martin Schur, owed a $1000 to the company and they put some sort of device, called a limiter, on his account so that he wouldn’t receive much power. And, the kicker is that this man’s nephew believes that he had over  $500,000 dollars that he donated to charity, Bay Medical Center.

Now isn’t his nonsense? I always thought that electricity couldn’t be cut off for nonpayment in the winter time but I guess that isn’t always the case. It just goes to show that you shouldn’t judge people by appearances. Apparently this elderly gentleman wasn’t broke after all and was a wealthy philanthropist that chose NOT to pay his $1,000 bill.Instead, he chosen not to pay and died an agonizing and slow death. Unbelievable. What do you think?

Guess what you can buy for 3.7 million dollars?

Published by kpcwriting under In the News Edit This

Just when I thought I heard it all, someone does something that really baffles me. Apparent some girl is selling her virginity for 3.7 million bucks in order to pay for school and establish a firm financial foundation for herself and the bad thing about this that CNN considers this top news.

In fact, they are even plastering this bizarre story on their home page. I think this is absolutely absurd. What is our world coming too? Isn’t this just prostitution? What about morals, value and working hard to get ahead? I just don’t understand this people and I certainly don’t condone it. There are so many other ways to make money instead of selling yourself.

To me, this is truly a travesty and the fact that it is getting so much media attention is even crazier. What do you think prosperity seekers?

House buying tips

Published by kpcwriting under In the News Edit This

If you’ve been considering purchasing a new home for you and your family, it seems as if now would be the perfect time to do it. Not only are interest rates at anal time low but houses are plentiful. In fact, in some parts of the world, you can even get a 3-4 bedroom house for $100,000 or less. Wow. This is very exciting news for prosperity seekers that are eager to “make that move.”

Here are some additional tips:

  • Make sure you can afford a new home. Factor in mortgage payments, utility costs and other bills as well. In addition, if you’re married, make sure that you base the price of the house on one income in case you or your spouse loses their jobs.
  • Get your financing in line now. Hopefully you are able to pay cash or at least put down 20% or more which will help offset any interest payments. If not, you may be able to qualify for a loan from a financial institution or government programs. However, criteria for these are higher than they used to be in the past.
  • Shop around. Great deals are plentiful and don’t be afraid to negotiate to make sure that you get the best deal. By doing this, you will save yourself a tremendous amount of cash.

In conclusion, now may be the perfect time for you to buy your home. Just make sure that you follow the above tips and you’ll be well on your way to becoming a homeowner in your dream house. Good luck.

Job Loss Report and the Economy

Published by kpcwriting under In the News Edit This

So, some fancy snazzy report is out saying that the “sky is falling”. Well, not exactly but it sure feels like this. Apparently job loss or unemployment is at an all time high right now and yes, I do feel for those people who have been impacted by these challenging times, I challenge all of you to not give power to this absurdity.

Yes, people are losing their jobs every single day. On the same token, some people are actually finding brand new opportunities every day as well. But, what makes some people successful and some not? Is it some type of mystical power that they possess? Well, I think that it is their mindset.

They refuse to give up and they refuse to give power to the “Chicken Little - the sky is falling phenomena”. Instead, they do what they have to do to get a new job and they don’t worry about what economists say. In essence, they get busy.

So, I challenge you to get busy too despite what economist say.

Is this Economy Scaring You – Well, Don’t Let It.

Just about everyone is running scared. They’re scared of the economy and making dumb decisions with their money. For instance, I know one lady that took all her investments out of the market and put them in her mattress because she was scared that the market was about to crash. Yes, it is tough seeing your portfolio dwindle but you can’t let fear control your life. Instead, you have to stand up and take backthe power. You have to not be scared about the economy. Here are some tips:

  • Stop watching negative news.  The news will scare anybody. Well, don’t let it. Stop worrying about negative news. Instead, only concentrate on the positive things. Whenever you hear information about the economy getting worst, tune it out and replace with a positive affirmation like “That might be their appearance but this is not the way that it really is. Things are getting better every single day and I will prosper.”
  • Understand the risks. Yes, you should understand the risks of your investments. Depending on when you’ll need your money, you may be able to ride out these tough times. Or, you may be better off investing in safer investments like bond or Treasuries. It basically depends on your risk factors. To ignore this just doesn’t make good economic sense.
  • Pick a goal. Concentrate on one goal at a time. If you have an excessive amount of debt, instead of worrying about investing your money, it might be better to concentrate on investing it into paying off debt. Not only will this give you a higher return but it will improve your financial mindset and confidence as well.
  • Go automatic. Instead of worrying about every drop in the market, stop caring about it. Set your payments on automatic and forget about it. For instance, let’s say that your goal is to save for retirement. Well, choose a suitable mutual fund, have the amount deducted every month to your retirement fund and don’t worry about it. Stop being scared about every little drop and concentrate on making more money instead.

Women Donating Eggs for Cash - Yes or No?

Published by kpcwriting under In the News Edit This

OK, I just heard something crazy a few days ago– well, as the proud mother of 3 beautiful kids who I love with all my heart, I find this story a bit crazy.

Anyway, on CNN there is a story about women who are willing to sell their eggs for money. According to CNN’s video , 30 year old (or less) women sell their eggs to other women to make fat cash and  help others who can’t have babies.

In fact, one woman has already gotten a whopping $7000 for her eggs and is set to get another $8000 in a few weeks. She doesn’t seem bothered by the morality of this at all.

However, I wonder is selling eggs really a viable business model? I mean, what if this mystery woman one day has a son who ummm marries his sister. Well, it could very well happen.

Although making $7,000 - $20,000 a pop for selling their lineage may sounds appealing to some women, it just doesn’t sound very appealing to me.

Instead, I would rather work hard and save my money other ways. To me, there is just something about selling my eggs that just doesn’t sit well with me.

Plus, I’m a bit too old anyway but even if I wasn’t it just does not sound worth it. After all, you have to go through 2 weeks of hormone treatments and then once the transplant takes, you get paid.

Anyway, just thought I would ask your opinion about this? Do you think this could work for someone as a way to become prosperous? Apparently lots of women do. What do you think?

Is the Economy really Screwing Everyone Up or Is it You?

Published by kpcwriting under In the News Edit This

Everyone is blaming the economy on their inability to find or get a better job, pay down their debt and other stuff but it is really the economy’s fault? I mean, yes the economy isn’t as strong as it used to be. Companies are failing left in right and a people are losing their homes but is it really the economy’s fault?

I mean, we spend so much time posting blame that we aren’t taking care of our business. Instead of fixing our bad situations, we complain. Instead of finding a job, we complain. Instead of downsizing to a more affordable house, we complain. We complain left and right but we aren’t doing what needs to be done.

My advice is to stop complaining about the economy and make your situation better. Do what you have to do to improve your financial situation. Stop depending on the economy to improve. Stop waiting on the government to bail you out of this mess.

Clean it up yourself. Do your part to change your situation for the best.Only then will your life and situation improve.

Americans Are Slashing Debt - and Consumer Experts are Concerned!

Published by kpcwriting under In the News Edit This

I read a humorous story on CNN’s homepage yesterday that sounded positive to me although the way it was reported, doesn’t sound to goo for those hot shot billionaire companies who want to keep us in debt so that they can line their ummm fat pocketbooks with our cold hard cash. The story basically stated that for the first time on record, we are

The highlights of the story were:

  • Consumer debt fell by $30 billion or 0.8% in the third quarter.
  • Americans are busting debt like crazy because they no realize that it is bad news, costing them huge amount of cash and is harder to come by.
  • Folks are spending a lot less which is worrying those economists as consumer bad spending makes up a whopping  70% of the U.S.’s  gross domestic product.
  • People’s net worth fell and they’re changing.

And you know what I said, good for us Americans. We are sticking it to them and doing what we should have been doing for ourselves all along. Taking care of our business and not relying on the government or anyone else. We are slashing our budgets, spending less and paying down our debt and as a result, we will prosper American. Yes we will. Don’t listen to those money-hungry ghouls who are trying to get us to spend, spend, spend. I say, “continue to save, save, save.”

Money and Power - Don’t Mix for Rod Blagojevich

Published by kpcwriting under In the News Edit This

Now, most of us Prosperity Seekers, desperately want to be financially secure. We realize that being out of debt gives us a sense of freedom. The freedom to help others and make a positive difference in their lives as well as take care of our needs as the needs of our family as well. But, what happens when a Narcissist has a bit too much money and power? Disaster that’s right.

In case you don’t know, I’m talking about corruption and greed. I’m talking about Illinois Governor  , Ron Blagojevich, I’m talking about the huge scandal that is circulating about him selling his “senate seat” to the highest bidder. This got me to wonder, if some people with money and power tend to let  the money go to their head.

I guess there will always be a bad apple in every bunch. What I don’t think  is that we should allow one “bad egg” to taint our view of prosperity and the world around us. There is absolutely nothing wrong with seeking prosperity and achieving our goals, as long as we do them the right way.

By working smarter and applying our knowledge to digging ourselves out of the financial mess we are in. To me, this is simple common sense and will lead to money and freedom. You might not necessarily be “powerful” in the public sense but you’ll feel “powerful’ on the inside and to me that is far more valuable than anything in this world.
